Thanks to Fr Petr Phillips, here are the arrangements for Fr Gerard’s funeral

On Tuesday 5th August there will be a Requiem Mass in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite (1962 Missal) at St Winefride’s, Monkmoor at 7.00pm.

Following the celebration of Mass, Father McGuiness’s mortal remains will rest overnight in the Cathedral and on Wednesday 6th August, a Requiem Mass will be celebrated in the Cathedral at 12:15pm by the Bishop. There is limited parking at the Cathedral, so it is best to use the alternative Saint Julian’s Friars car park SY1 1XL.

Following the Requiem Mass Father Gerard’s mortal remains will be interred privately in Emstrey Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Light refreshments following the Requiem Mass will be served in the Orchard Café.
