I know for certain that at least some of the senior staff at SA had Opus Day leanings, but whether they were fully signed up members is a different matter. It strikes me as a possible factor in who was recruited, but Opus Dei would have been a relatively young and unknown organization in the UK when the school was founded. According to OD's homepage it was founded in Spain in 1928 and came to the UK in 1948, however it was the 70's 80's and JPII's patronage that bought it to prominence.
Bunch of flagellating right wing loonies with dubious sexuality if you ask me, so obviously they would have been quite out of place on Sharston Mount!
