If I remember correctly the list included the following (tnhough some may be books I read at the time) Boewulf(in translation of course) The Hobbit, The Red Pony, King Solomon's Mines, CS Lewis - the Narnia Books, Alan Garner - The Wierdstone of Brisingamen et al; and last but not least the Bunter books! (Just kidding)
