Trespasses
Book (fiction)
 [Book (fiction)]
by Louise Kennedy

1970s troubled sectarian Northern Ireland: Cushla, a young single Catholic primary teacher, lives in a quiet village near Belfast where she teaches in the local school, serves in the family pub in the evening and looks after her alcoholic mother. Her social life broadens when she meets Michael, an older married protestant barrister ...
Beautifully and tragically written throughout, the complex characters each try to find their own destiny in a community going nowhere ...

The Italian Job
Film
 [Film]
on 1960-01-01

Best Film Ever.
Wonderful self deprecating British humour.
Michael Caine and Noel Coward - classic
Some great memorable lines - "You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off", "Hang on a minute lads, I've got a great idea.", "This is The Self Preservation Society"
This film will never become dated.
[Yanks totally missed the point in The Italian Job II]

Collision
 [TV Programme]
on Other

Douglas Henshall ("Shetland") reappearing in crime series from 2009. Set in London with numerous subplots being developed. First episode introduces the characters and the subplots. The episode builds to the collision. The multiple collision was unconvincing and unlikely to have resulted in the fatalities described.
I found it slow moving. Acting and photography were not mediocre. I struggled to keep interested.
I won't be watching the 2nd episode.
