My dear Parents,
Christmas is coming, and we are planning the usual programme of pleasurable activities in which, we hope, you and your families will take part. The purpose of this present letter is to ask for your generous and loyal co-operation in the Grand Christmas Draw. It is in aid of a cause which I am sure is dear to your hearts, namely, the extension of the facilities and activities of the School an evergrowing community which can always make use of extended resources. As you will see if you look at the raffle tickets, the prizes offered are very attractive.
A book of tickets costs 50 pence. I offer you the suggestion that you begin by obtaining a book of tickets for each member of your family. I have no doubt at all that all your neighbours will want to take books also when they see what is being offered.
The money, counterfoils, and (if any) unsold tickets, must be returned to the School no later than Monday, 29th November, 1976. The draw will take place in the School on Wednesday, 1st December. The list of prizewinners will be distributed at the Parents and Oldboys Dance, which is to be held on Friday, 3rd December. About this Dance, incidentally, I shall be writing to you again very soon.
Every boy has been given Three books to take home to start with. I do hope you will buy these and send for more
Yours sincerely,

(F.J. McGUINESS)
